Welcome to first grade! I am excited to be teaching your child this year. This is my fourth year in Brookhaven School District and my second year at Mamie Martin. I previously taught for two years at Brookhaven Elementary School. I graduated from Mississippi State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, and I am certified to teach general education and special education.
My students have the unique privilege of using the Dubard Association Method to improve reading skills in all major areas: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. This method has also been shown to improve language and communication skills for students with a variety of needs. I am honored to have had the opportunity to travel to Dubard School and train with them, giving me the ability to use their research-proven, highly effective methods to help students in our district. Click on the links below to learn a bit more about the Dubard Association Method and the impact it has had on students for many years.
