My original intention was to find a job in middle school, however the position I found was teaching a second grade inclusion class. I have also taught transition classes, regular second grade classes, as well as first grade. This is my thirteenth year as librarian, which is a position that I really enjoy. I have a total of twenty-seven years experience and all of it has been here at Mamie Martin. Needless to say, I just love this place.
I was born in Brookhaven in the old Silver Cross Nursing Home on North Jackson Street, which was Kings Daughter's Hospital at that time, and have lived here for most of my life. Mamie Martin is the first school that I attended, and I graduated from Brookhaven High School. My bachelor's degree is from the University of Southern Mississippi, and my master's degree is from William Carey University. I am married to the former Hyok Yo Kim of Anui, South Kyeongsung Province, South Korea. We are empty nesters, and do almost everything together. We enjoy traveling, especially to South Korea, and Montana, where our three grandchildren live. We no longer enjoy cooking, so we like to try new restaurants, and yard work Also, I like to sit down with a good murder mystery, when time allows. We share our yard with a cat, Mundoo, which is Korean for "dumpling".
