Mrs. Jeffrey's Kindergarten Class

WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN!

          I am so excited to meet you and your children. It is going to be a wonderful year. This welcome letter is full of information about my classroom and ways we can all have a smooth transition throughout the day! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me!

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES:

*Arrive daily by 8:00 am

*Breakfast is 1.25, Lunch is 2.25

*Absences: Fill out and return a doctor excuse OR the form in the back of the handbook. We must receive this within 3 days of the absence.

*Make sure I have a current and updated contact number for you at all times.

*Please make sure any changes in transportation are done through the office. Please contact me also!!!!

*I will update you weekly on P.E. days. Please wear tennis shoes on this day.

Rules

1. Follow directions.
2. Raise your hand to speak.
3. Ask permission to leave your seat.
4. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
5. Respect others and yourself.

I am very excited about our behavior system this year. We initiated Class Dojo last year and our students and parents loved it! So, we want to keep it up and going for this year. You can go to www.classdojo.com to read into more if you would like. I will send out a link once I get everyone’s phone numbers in. Class Dojo is a great way to track your student’s behavior and contact me during school hours. However, you will also have my number and the schools. Class Dojo is set up based on a points scale.

+3 or more pts = PINK

+2 pts = PURPLE

+1 pts = BLUE

0 pts = GREEN    ßWE ALL START ON GREEN EVERY DAY!

-1 pts = YELLOW

-2 pts = ORANGE

-3 or more pts = RED

Your child is able to get points for anything! Standing in line correctly, helping a friend, ANY POSITIVE BEHAVIOR! There will be a print out for you to follow in their planners. I know this is a little much to take on but it is very easy to follow once we get started and such an awesome, positive reinforcement. Their points add up for the week and they use them for prizes! They can also save their points for the next week to get something else. Its up to them. Points start over weekly. PLEASE NOTE: YOUR CHILD GETS +2 POINTS ON FRIDAY FOR HAVING YOUR SIGNATURE DAILY!!!!!

Transportation Changes:

If you need to make a change to how your child gets home daily, it MUST be done before noon that day. Make sure you include an address to where they are going and a phone number. You can jot this down in the planner and I can get them a pass. Just make sure to include address/phone number.

Visitors

     We love visitors!!!!! However, you must have a visitors pass from the office with your name and arrival time. I cannot talk to you until you have a pass and will not be able to let you in the room. This is for your child’s safety!

Supplies

     Please make sure to have all supplies by the end of the first week of school.

Planners

      We will send home planners starting on Monday. Every child will be assigned a planner. This is a great communication tool for us to use daily!!!! Planners are $4.00. Please get that into me as soon as possible so I can send it home! Inside the planners will be a behavior note for the month for easy tracking!

Snacks

      Please send your child a snack to school this week. We will be able to start purchasing snacks on Monday. Drinks are 50 cents and snacks are 60 cents to $1.00. Your child is welcome to bring snacks from home instead of purchasing them at school. However, please be sure to write their name on it!!

VERY IMPORTANT:

Any money or things sent to school…please make sure you label, label, label. Write me a note in the planner and let me know they have it. Put it in a Ziploc bag with their name and what the money is for. I have to know what it is for!!! When in doubt, label! J
