About the Teacher

 
Bio

I am a Brookhaven alumni  -- Class of 1991! I am married to Philip Hickman, a Brookhaven alumni (Class of 1990) and we have two children.  Our daughter is a 2012 honor graduate of Brookhaven High School and my son is also a student in our district.  Needless to say, we are OLE BROOK to the core!

All of my teaching career so far has been spent right here at Mamie Martin.  I worked as an assistant for several years and returned to complete my degree in Education at USM after my children were born.  This is my eighth year as a first grade teacher and I absolutely love it!  

In my spare time, I enjoy art of all kinds: Painting, drawing, stitching, and any kind of craft.  It is a skill that comes in quite handy in my classroom!
